ASHRAF HELMY

With a background in banking, Ashraf Helmey currently serves as a senior ESG consultant based in Nyon, Switzerland, offering advice on innovative sustainable finance solutions, aligning ESG processes, and leading investment initiatives.

In 2019, his career took a pivotal turn when he observed the growing concerns surrounding environmental and social issues. Recognizing the importance of sustainability, he made a deliberate decision to utilize his extensive expertise to promote sustainable finance and align himself with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives. He refined his skills in the field, including ESG strategy development, risk assessment, and understanding regulatory frameworks. His dedication led him to earn a Sustainable Finance Certificate from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

Prior to his current role, Ashraf held positions in various financial institutions such as Banque Havilland Switzerland, SSA & Co, and Bank CIC Switzerland, Union National Bank Abu Dhabi and Citi Bank Egypt. In these roles, he served in senior relationship management, provided consultancy in private equity, corporate banking, wealth management, and other areas.

Born in 1972, Ashraf embarked on his academic journey, which included participating in exchange programs at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), ultimately earning a Bachelor of Economics from the American University in Cairo (AUC).
